Oil & Gas – Industrial Photographer
Sherritt Oil & gas workers in Yumuri Cuba take measurements of the rods. You can see the ocean just behind the second worker which was nice as the cool air was refreshing while photographing in +38 temps.

At night they look like something from outer space but these Horton Sphere’s are located in Fort Saskatchewan Alberta. I had the chance to capture this image while on assignment with www.sherritt.com creating images for their annual report.
That’s the catchphrase from Sluice Mining Apparel. I had the pleasure of visiting their booth at a recent Sportmans Show in Sudbury where they were introducing their line to the public. Check out their site at www.Sluice.Biz or email them for more info at Sluiceminer@gmail.com to get your hands on some clothing and stickers. As you can see below, I already have mine.
This real life Tonka toy dumps another load of paydirt to be processed at this Ontario Concrete Facility.
If you are flipping through the latest edition of Canadian Mining Journal you will come across more of my images that I have created for the Totten Mine Archives. Take the time to read the article “VALE’S VISION” by Russell Noble which highlights the key elements of the Totten Mine Project
Here are a few images used throughout the article. Click image to view Canadian Mining Journal Digital Edition
Totten Mine had it’s official grand opening this past Friday. I had the pleasure to photograph all the different stages of the project and I watched the progress every weekend as I headed to my cottage which takes me right past the site. Totten closed in 1972 a year before I was born and as a kid when we crested the hill and the old headframe came into view we knew we were almost at the lake.
Congratulations to everyone involved.

I was recently approached to photograph a steel company for some new promotional materials that are in the works. The images they have now were created over 10 years ago and are a bit “outdated” to say the least. If your company is constantly expanding it’s technology and processes your marketing materials should change with it.

After being processed through a centrifuge this material can now be sent back with the ore to extract the remaining metals.

Besides photographing and creating images underground, in the shops or out in the field I also get requests to photograph the corporate portraits for the companies as well. I try to encourage the company to get each of the portraits done at the same time to ensure that they have the same look and feel when displayed on their marketing materials. Over and over I see websites where the companies profiles are a mixture of places, backgrounds and even quality.

It’s always nice to see images I have created being put to good use. This is a past issue of CIM Magazine that features one of my images on the cover.

Be sure to try and attend the 2014 CIM Convention this May in Vancouver.
