Even though we were in a back parking lot within an industrial park yesterday morning Mother Nature gave us a great sunrise to work with. With hues of orange and purples cresting the horizon the 4LD had it’s final session it was transported to it’s final destination.

The Ink In The Pen Runs Out Before The Core Samples Do | Mining Industrial Photographer James Hodgins
A Geologist takes notes of the thousands of core samples stacked column after column at this Northern Ontario Mine Site. These Core samples are obtained by drilling into the rock using a core drill tipped with a Diamond Drill Bit. The core samples are then analysed to detect the properties of metals and alloys.

Big Or Small Quality Trumps All – Sudbury Photographer
Here is an image from a few years back while I was on assignment photographing different trades across Ontario. If you own a small company with limited employees and you wish to grow your clientelle then showcasing your staff, product and fabrications to demographic is very important. Using custom images instead of “stock” photography can have your future clients connect with you by putting visuals to your business. Having a wide spread portfolio of images to use on social media is a must these days as the younger generation that are moving into the workforce are used to connecting on these different medias. Read why it’s always a better path to use custom images created for your company than stock images that are irrelevant or repetitive.

Underground With Kal Tire | Mining Photographer
Regular inspections and maintenance are performed by Kal Tire specialists in the underground maintenance bay of the mine. I captured numerous images during this shoot for Kal Tire showcasing the different procedures to ensure the safety of their product. These images will be used for their marketing materials, website and publications.

This Mining Photographer Takes A Shameless Selfie
While on location last week James Hodgins (Mining Industrial Photographer) took a few seconds to quickly capture this Selfie while no one was looking. When later asked “why” he took the image his reply was “To see how the Halo lights would illuminate the scene”. Sources close to him revealed that the Sudbury based photographer will use himself as the subject for his test shots but some skeptics think he takes these selfies so that he can post shameless plugs on his Mining Industrial Website. Either way, the lighting is flattering.
