Love At First Flight | Sudbury Aerial Photography
So last night I took “Arial” out for a quick zip in behind my neighborhood as the sun was quickly setting. Nothing fancy as I am still getting used to options that this unit has to offer. I am looking forward to pushing the envelope with creating more stunning images for my clients.

The “Lighter Side” of Mining | Mining Industrial Photographer
While I was underground on Friday creating images for my client Dan here was my “escort” around the underground labyrinth. Here he was taking me all over the underworld watching me create images of other people that I figured he should have one of himself as well. As he was looking back in the truck, waiting for a scoop to pass, the whole “scenario” just clicked with me. The angle, the lighting, even the subject matter all fit together for a great story telling image. I knew that this was going to be the image I would create for him at the end of the day…………………and we did.

The Self Portrait Test Shot | Mining Industrial Photographer
I don’t know how many self portraits I have of myself over my 20 years in photography but it’s a lot. It’s not that I like taking pictures of myself (oh I do) but when working with limited time it’s always best to have everything setup before the client set’s foot in front of the camera. So I use myself as the “test subject”. Some I like, some I don’t. Fortunately you will only see the ones I like. Have a great Monday.

Mining with Maclean Engineering | Mining Photog Sudbury
Last week I had the fortunate opportunity to work with some crew from Maclean Engineering in Timmins and Quebec photographing some older and new models of Maclean Equipment. It was great to see equipment from 20+ years still on the job and also some new “very clean” machines that had just arrived on site. Mining Industrial Photographer
I do enjoy photographing underground any chance I can get but I am looking forward to working with a few new clients this Summer in some unique locations. Each location brings it’s own challenges whether it’s lighting, accessibility, or even the subject I am shooting, but that is all part of the job. As a professional it’s not about “rolling with the punches” but rather “been there done that” which only comes with experience.
