I came home after vacation to find the new MMTS Publication waiting for me in the mail. I provided the cover photo which I created at Gold Corp’s Musslewhite Mine located in Ontario Canada. Visit the Mining Showcase at the New Sudbury Center this week.
This was Henry’s last shift in the warehouse at Musselwhite Mine in Northern Ontario. At the end of the day he was officially retired so I took a bit of time to create a quick portrait of him on the job.
I spent a good hour photographing Alicia and her grader while visiting Goldcorp’s Red Lake Mine all the while asking her about her job, background and the mining life she is now a part of. When people love their jobs, the company they work for, and the people they are working with the results show through in the images I create for them.
Yesterday I had a quick chance to photograph Sandvik’s LH514E Electric Loader at Goldcorps Hoyle Pond Mine in Timmins Ontario. Noise levels are significantly reduced when comparing Electric to Diesel.

I was just browsing through the latest edition of Canadian Mining Journal and happily came across another instance where images I have created are being used in Industry Articles. It’s no surprise as Maclean Engineering are actively using the images for social media, marketing and obviously trade magazines. I just couldn’t picture this article having the same impact if it was taken with the Supervisors Cell phone.
