This was Maeghan’s first time underground so I created this portrait of her as a memento. It’s always customary for me to create a portrait of the people I work with when I am underground, especially if it’s their first time and of course as a thank you for putting up with me on our underground adventures.

I was finished my shoot and heading back to the vehicle when I spotted this miner about to cross my path. “Would you like a portrait?” I asked. “Of me?” she replied. “You can try taking a portrait of me but there is a reason why I am behind the camera LOL” I said. That immediately got a smile from her and I knew I had to capture it.

Today I had the chance to mix business with pleasure as I found myself on a shoot with my good friend Gen. She’s fresh into the industry so I figured she might as well start of right with a new portrait.
