Stobie Mine From The Air
An Aerial view of Sudbury Ontario's Stobie Mine. Unless you have visited the mine or flown over it, you would never have known the size of the open pits at this site.

Awhile back Atlas Copco consitantly featured companies that were using their ITH drilling prodcuts, in this case Idea Drilling based out of North Virgina. This is a great way to promote your companies product and also show appreciation for your clients.

Going through some archived photos of Detour Lake Gold North of Timmins Ontario that I photographed last July. I needed to find an image showcasing Mine Construction where I can make the viewer "focus" on a specific area of the construction.

One mining company is now producing their own fertilizer in the form of Fish Excrement. Why? With mining companies now green and trying their best at re-foresting and re-greening past mining operations, traditional fertilizer was becoming more costly by the year. By growing their own fish and harvesting the fish (Rainbow Trout) "poop" for fertilizer the company now saves money while using an environmentally safe product. Once the fish get to be too big for the pens, they are realeased into nearby lakes & rivers adding to the local fisheries. It's a win win situation for everyone.

Core Shacks are relatively small, and sometimes it's hard to get a great shot while inside as using a wide angle lense can really distort the edges of the frame. Climbing on top of the core shack and photographing from the outside in is better perspective to show the core shack and the drill.
