Oil & Gas workers in Yumuri Cuba. It was so hot this day that a few local were bathing in a mud puddle just behind these 2 workers.
Mining industrial photographer is based out of the mining city of Sudbury Ontario Canada.
“James is an amazing photographer. He captured many incredible shots of our project, equipment working and our people on site. He gave us exactly what we were looking for. I would work with him again, and I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a good mining/industrial photographer.”

Corporate Communications Manager,
Ledcor
Sometimes people just walk into frame to complete the composition. I captured this last month while photographing Ledcor Mining operations at the Young Davidson Mine in Matachewan Ontario.
Come stop by my booth next week at the Largest Mining Expo in Timmins Ontario.
Just like everyone who works underground for a living. Most of us may never know the meticulous procedures and techniques that are involved in a mine rescue. Some may think that the team simply goes underground, finds the miners and brings them back up to surface. Well, it’s far far from that. While I was photographing the Mine Rescue Competition I was blown away by the professionalism of the competing teams, the amount of preparation involved before they step on and off site and the constant communication between teammates, mine operations and those that needed rescue. It was exhausting just trying to keep pace with them and shoot. These individuals put their lives on the line every time they do their jobs and after this I am glad to know who they are and what they are capable of. I do hope that I never need their services while photographing underground or above.
I had the opportunity to capture images of the recent Mine Rescue Competition held in the Walden Arena Lively. This was a fast paced competition with limited lighting and challenging scenarios. Applied a few different techniques to capture images that had impact and also be used for review/archive. Congratulations to Vale East Mines Rescue Team who came out victorious.
I will be working on the hundreds of images I captured throughout the week.
My thoughts and prayers to the family and friends. Please be safe when working underground (or anywhere for that matter)
Every worker has the right to return home safe and sound at the end of each work day.
By working together – with employers, workers and our health and safety partners – we can prevent worker injuries and deaths before they occur.
If you received the latest edition of Modern Mining And Technology Sudbury Magazine (published by Sudbury Living) you will see one of my recent images of Lance Howland (Totten Mine’s Chief Mine Geologist) on the cover. You will see on Page 9 my good friend Genevieve Dupont (Sales Rep for Jannatec Technologies)
Check out my booth at next months Canadian Mining Expo in Timmins Ontario.
This Sudbury Photographer scratched one off is photo bucket list last Fall while photographing a Canadian Coal Operation. From a distance they look big. From up close they are titans. You have seen my other images with loaders and haulers so you can get the “picture” of just how big these Dragline Excavators really are.
