Photographing Mine Sites from the air is a great way to get on overal visual of your companies site and/or companies progress and production. Weather conditions, time of day, angle and elevation are all factors to consider when obtaining crisp aerial photographs.

While on a shoot today I came across this John Deere Excavator all alone with nobody to play with.

Constantly checking over the plans and diagrams of the mine construction ensures that the project stays on tract and will be completed by the date projected.
This Manitou MT 1044 series mining forklift was on site to position loads of up to 10 meters with a max load capacity of 3000kg.

You simply have to add your own lighting to bring out the details and have a proper exposure throughout the image, or you can wait until the right time of day using the sun as the main light source (which I did here). It's not easy to make things like this interesting but that is what I love about the challenges of Mine Photography.
