When the equipment breaks they work diligently and fast to get it back up and running. Underground or above sun or rain the pressure is always there to be as quick and efficient as possible.
As she crawls her way along the rocky path illuminating the surroundings that briefly go by her presence is always one of wonder and awe.
I love it when I get to photograph equipment immediately after assembly when the paint is fresh, the tires are clean and there isn’t a scratch to be found like this Rock Breaker Scale Boss I photographed before it was shipped to it’s client.
I photographed Vanessa (3rd generation miner) and her Scoop Tram 10 years ago next month. I have also been lucky enough to photograph her sister and dad who are both in the Mining Industry with Vale as well. I have been photographing Epiroc (Atlas Copco) Diamond Drill bits for years now and the circular part of my logo is actually a Hobic Drill bit that I captured during one of our first shoots. I have seen the production of these bits from all stages and luckily have photographed each of them. Like my photography, these bits are always making small changes to become more efficient and productive in their environment.
