Core samples like the one below is the exploration drilling teams primary goal when searching out mineral bodies. It might not look like much, but to a trained eye the sample could hold the future for mining production.

Exploration drillers had their drill rig setup on the side of a mountain just on the outskirts on Chihuahua Mexico. These two ment business but I managed to grab a few minutes of their time to create this image for the company.

I captured this Exploration Drill Rig on the side of a mountain in Chihuahua Mexico. These Drill rigs(and drillers) work around the clock, night and day to get the core samples needed for the company that hired them.

Long after the Mines are decomissioned, environmentalists still undergow constant testing of the water and soil for sustainabilitiy.

As I posted before, getting the payload out of the groundis only part of the battle. These huge underground mining scoops carry huge amounts of paydirt to the surface to be processed.

I believe I took this image somewhere in Utah (It was somewhere in the States) years ago. I remember finishing the actual image we needed for the project and while taking a break I asked “Miner Moe” to make a crazy face like he was playing an Xbox, because the controls he was using was controlling some heavy equipment, it reminded me of a video game. Sometimes you just got too let them have fun. He loved the image!

Core Shacks are relatively small, and sometimes it's hard to get a great shot while inside as using a wide angle lense can really distort the edges of the frame. Climbing on top of the core shack and photographing from the outside in is better perspective to show the core shack and the drill.
