So Don, What Do You Do At The Company? | Mining Photographer James Hodgins
I recently found myself in Northern Quebec this past week photographing another unit from the Maclean Engineering lineup in the depths of the Bracemac mine in Matagami. We had some familiar faces with us again (always a pleasure) and some new ones like Don here pictured below. We had a good chuckle when I casually asked what Don did at the company while spreading my creton on my toast Thursday morning at breakfast. Turns out he’s the Founder/owner/big cheese/head honcho…………you get the picture. Don founded the company in 1973 and has been in the industry since the early 1970’s. He was also recently inducted into the International Mining Hall Of Fame for his contributions to underground mining. Of course, we couldn’t leave without me getting a quick portrait of Don in his glory in the depths of Bracemac Mine.
Thanks again for a great shoot and all the wonderful stories we shared over last few days.
