The love for mining/industrial photography started over 15 years ago when I was asked to photograph a knee surgery for a local marketing agency. All was good throughout the beginning until the smell of burnt bone (when they cut open the knee with a saw) hit my senses. Luckily I got enough images by that time to make a quick exit.
This shoot then led it’s way into a more industrial project where I had to photograph some trades people doing their job. The below image was my very first time photographing a welder………………..and I was hooked.

It takes a lot of man-power (and machine power) to create the foundation of a successful mine. Load and transporting ground materials is just part of the process.
This Sudbury Acid Plant well be removed and a new and improved Acid Plant will be re-created just a few feet away. This is all in preperation with the Clean AER Project.
