When photographing in the crisp morning air one must hold their breath in anticipation for the perfect shot. Photographer problems lol.

I captured this portrait of Brian the last time I was at the www.macleanengineering.com Collingwood Facility. Brian as been with the company for over 36 years, a milestone accomplishment nowadays. These are the portraits I love to create and showcase, the people behind the company, day to day always the professional.

Sometimes in cramped spaces you have to get a little creative with illuminating the subjects. A steady hand and longer exposure sometimes works but having a “backpocket” light as I call it always helps. Small flashes, flashlights even my caplamp have been used in the creation process.

Now that 2016 is in full swing in the mining industrial sectors it’s time to start thinking about this years marketing materials and online portfolio. Trade show season is only a few months away and you don’t want to leave it until the last minute so you are scrambling for images for your presentations, trade show booths, investor reports and online updates. A full day shoot can yield high quality “wow factor” images that can be used throughout the year without repeating the use of images. I will work directly with your creative marketing team to formulate a shoot schedule and scenario list that would work best for your company.

At the request from one of my clients I had to go back into the 2012 archives and retrieve a few images so I thought I would post one of them. This was from a Hydro One Photoshoot that featured one of their employees in their in house magazine. Location was Manitoulin Island (Outside of Sudbury Ontario) near Bay Of Finn.

Here is another chance I had to photograph an industrial worker that has never had his portrait created while working. I hope he enjoys the photo as much as I had creating it.

Depending on the environment you see it in, the bucket from a dragline can look pretty small when you compare it to the beast it’s attached to, but when you get up close and personal with it (like doing repairs) you quickly realize it’s a giant among men.
