Even after 26 years I still have to prove myself every time I am on the job. One time when I was on site going through orientation I was asked “Your a mining photographer? So what projects have you worked on?” I replied “These past few years have photographed for multiple mining companies and equipment manufacturers throughout multiple Countries. The images are then used for websites, social media, product brochures and annual reports.”

“Ok, but what specific projects have worked on?” and it was the tone that said “I am not convinced, what qualifies you to be here.”

This is why I have all used client images on my phone, so I can quickly scan through the images that are relevant to what I am about to photograph, to give me credibility that I can do the job to their satisfaction, to gain their confidence.

This is the exact same reason why you should have great imagery showcasing your product or service. Everyone will scrutinize it and question it so always put your best foot forward and present your work with your chin held high.
